Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis that is caused by the deterioration and breakdown of cartilage and bone. It mainly affects the joints and surrounding tissue.
It is a chronic condition that can progress to severe pain and disability. Osteoarthritis can also lead to early death because it’s associated with increased risk for heart attack, heart failure, diabetes, depression and other chronic conditions.
