Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a condition in which the plantar fascia ligament, which supports the arch of the foot, becomes irritated and inflamed.
The plantar fascia ligament is a long flat band of tissue that runs from the heel bone to the ball of the foot. It supports the arch of your foot by creating tension when you put weight on your feet. When this tissue becomes irritated or inflamed, it can cause significant pain in your heel and along this band on your foot.
Plantar fasciitis (or sometimes called “heel spur syndrome”) is sometimes caused by overuse or misuse of your feet- for example wearing shoes without proper support or walking on hard surfaces without proper footwear.
